For very smart people, life can often feel incredibly boring. Our world seems designed for those with simpler minds to succeed, leaving few real challenges for a genius. Without tough problems to solve, the intelligent person might feel constantly bored.
To cope with this, the smart person might make life harder on purpose. They create their own problems just to feel alive. This way, they have something difficult to work on, which gives them a sense of purpose and excitement. By digging themselves into holes, they enjoy the challenge of climbing back out.
However, this behaviour has a downside. While it provides the mental stimulation they crave, it also means they are fighting against themselves. Instead of using their intelligence to achieve great things, they end up wasting it on problems they created. They become their own worst enemy, stuck in a cycle of making life hard and then fixing it.
This situation shows an important point: very smart people need real challenges. Without them, they might create their own problems, which can be harmful. It’s important to create environments that challenge and engage intelligent minds in positive ways.
